Recruitment is vital to Aeromag’s continued growth and success. By carefully attracting and selecting the right talent, we ensure our teams are equipped with the skills and passion needed to meet our goals and uphold our high standards. 

Alexandra Krantzberg, Human Resources Advisor, has been part of the Aeromag team for two years. She oversees recruitment for our stations in Canada and the United Kingdom. Rose Echeverry, Human Resources Manager, recently joined the team to support and supervise recruitment efforts for our stations in the United States. 

Overcoming Challenges Through Adaptability 

This year, the team faced significant recruitment challenges, particularly in finding qualified candidates for key positions, such as mechanics, due to Aeromag’s highly specific requirements in terms of technical skills and hands-on experience. The competitive job market and the limited availability of candidates with the right expertise led to delays in filling critical roles. In response to these challenges, we’ve adapted our recruitment strategies by approaching candidates and offering competitive compensation packages and benefits. Additionally, we leveraged external resources, including specialized recruitment firms, to support our hiring efforts. These measures enabled us to access a broader pool of qualified candidates and maintain operational continuity in essential areas. 

The recruitment processes in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada share broadly similar structure, particularly in terms of job postings, interviewing, and candidate vetting. However, key differences emerge due to varying labour laws, cultural expectations, and compliance requirements. Canada and the United Kingdom share similar recruitment process despite some regulatory differences. However, in the United States, the process varies significantly from one state to another. Legal complexity requires greater caution and consistency in hiring practices. In response to these differences, we’ve adapted our recruitment practices to each region.  

At Aeromag, attracting top talent has been driven by a strategic focus on employer branding, candidate experience, and proactive outreach. We’ve enhanced our presence on social media by consistently sharing employee testimonials, company achievements, and awards to showcase our culture. Ensuring a positive candidate experience is a priority.
