Main Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager – People Operations is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for ensuring consistent and compliant human resources service delivery across Aeromag’s operations in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This role oversees both a Human Resources Coordinator and a Human Resources Advisor, ensuring that human resources administrative processes, employee lifecycle activities, procedural compliance, and field support are executed effectively. The manager also plays a supporting role in employee relations and coach managers on disciplinary matters in collaboration with the Human Resources Advisor. This position is critical to maintain quality, consistency, and compliance across all stations.

 

Human Resources Oversight:

  • Supervise the HR Coordinator and HR Advisor to ensure the timely, accurate execution of HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and leave tracking.
  • Oversee the integrity of employee records, human resources documentation, and data within internal systems.
  • Monitor human resources inboxes, task trackers, and internal service SLAs to ensure high-quality HR service delivery.
  • Oversee the completion of operational human resources tasks for the United States operations in coordination with local support.

Compliance and Process Integrity:

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable employment legislation in both Canada and the United Kingdom.
  • Conduct file audits and documentation reviews to maintain consistency and accuracy in administrative processes.
  • Train station-level leadership and administrative staff on human resources procedures, forms, and internal compliance standards.

Benefits Oversight:

  • Oversee Canada and British group benefits administration handled by the HR Coordinator.
  • Ensure that enrolments, changes, and terminations are processed accurately and in accordance with policy and provider guidelines.
  • Support the Director, Human Resources in benefits renewal planning and vendor communication by providing reports and feedback from field operations.

Employee Relation Support:

  • Provide guidance and backup support to the HR Advisor on employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary measures, and performance discussions for the stations in Canada and the United Kingdom.
  • Assist in reviewing and drafting documentation such as warnings, performance letters, and termination notices.
  • Support coaching efforts by advising managers on disciplinary processes and proper documentation, in collaboration with the HR Advisor.
  • Participate in sensitive discussions or investigations when escalation or additional support is required.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, task assignment, and coaching to the HR Coordinator and HR Advisor.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, support development planning, and ensure alignment with departmental goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, responsive human resources team environment.

Employee Engagement:

  • Manage and administer Workleap as the company’s employee engagement platform.
  • Monitor participation and feedback trends within Workleap to ensure consistent usage and actionable insights.
  • Prepare and share monthly engagement reports and recommendations with human resources leadership and station managers.
  • Contribute to broader initiatives that promote employee experience, recognition, and workplace culture.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, or business administration.
  • 5+ years of human resources experience with strengths in administration, employee relations, and compliance or relevant work experience in the deicing industry.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating disciplinary processes and investigations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (ADP or similar).
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Bilingual (French/English) preferred.
  • Occasional travel to stations in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States may be required.
  • Hybrid position (three days at the office/week).
