Operations Supervisor

Summary

The Operations Supervisor is reporting directly to the Operations Managers. He/she must use his/her experience and knowledge to always act as a team leader during and outside the deicing operations. He/she must demonstrate his/her high level of initiative, act with respect and promote teamwork.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assists the Operations Managers on duty for all operational tasks.
  • Assigns the deicing trucks in preparation for the deicing operations.
  • Assists personnel in deicing technics.
  • Assist personnel during deicing and snow removal operations.
  • Fills up Icehouse / Iceman positions when needed.
  • Act as a practical trainer during the operations and the training sessions.
  • Ensure that equipment and vehicles are used correctly.
  • Supervises the fill up station’s operations.
  • Assist in the environmental monitoring and required analysis.
  • Makes sure that distributed tasks are well executed (ex: maintenance, dips, etc.)
  • Ensure that all distributed tasks are performed correctly.
  • Participate and animate pre and post operations meetings.
  • Is responsible to offer and maintain a safe work environment and follows up on safety policies and standards. Ensure that safety policies and standards are followed.
  • Follows up on the ratio board and vehicle repair board.
  • Assists the Operations managers during the technician’s performance evaluations.
  • Participates in the briefing and debriefing meetings.
  • Attend the reception of the Glycol and related documentation.
  • Assist / manage the recovery and disposal of Used Glycol.
  • Assist in monitoring the inventory of glycol, fuel, and necessary equipment.
  • All additional tasks required from the Operations Managers.

Required Skills

  • Relevant de-icing experience.
  • Bay lead experience or equivalent experience for at least one (1) year,
  • Must possess a good sense of initiative.
  • Needs to be self-motivated.
  • Can work autonomously as well as within a team.
  • Must be able to work various shift work.
  • Must display leadership skills.
  • Considers health and safety as a top priority.
  • Supervisory and/or training experience will be considered assets.
