The Portraits of Changemakers series highlights the inspiring individuals at Aeromag who, every day, actively contribute to change through their commitment and vision. Among them, Jeff Kennedy, Operations Manager at our Calgary station (YYC) in Alberta.
Jeff has been with Aeromag for 15 years and has 25 years of experience in the aircraft deicing industry. He started as a Deicing Technician and progressed to Bay Lead, CTM, Operations Supervisor, and now Operations Manager.

“Safety and efficiency drive everything we do. I take pride in supporting our teams with the tools, training, and resources they need to deliver consistent results.”
Calgary’s Chinooks and rapid weather swings can change conditions quickly, making deicing needs especially unpredictable. Spraying can be required at any time of the year, even during the summer. Therefore, the team must be ready to respond quickly.
Review of the 2025-26 Season
The last deicing season was a true transition year for the team. With new staff coming on board, new leadership in place, and updated processes introduced, the focus was on strengthening the foundation and streamlining day-to-day operations for consistency and efficiency. The team also moved forward with key infrastructure upgrades: the operations control tower enlargement is complete, and work to expand the deicing apron area is expected to begin this summer to better meet demand and improve overall efficiency.
If Jeff had one piece of advice for new members of the deicing team, it would be this: ask questions whenever you’re unsure, we want you to learn and succeed. Slower days are a great opportunity to practice on different trucks, work through more challenging maneuvers, and build confidence.
Jeff might use his determination and passion to reach new heights, but he isn’t the only changemaker at Aeromag. Discover the other fascinating portraits of the key players in our big team.
