The Portraits of Changemakers series highlights the inspiring individuals at Aeromag who, every day, actively contribute to change through their commitment and vision. Among them, Sébastien Pelletier, Operations Manager at our Montreal station (YUL), in Quebec.
Sébastien is beginning his 14th deicing season with the Aeromag team. He began his career as a Deicing Technician, then held the positions of Bay Lead and Operations Supervisor, before moving into his current role as Operations Manager.
“What I enjoy most about my job is improving the productivity and efficiency of my teams, thereby having a direct impact on the company’s results. My position allows me to combine administrative tasks with field operations during deicing events.”
The 2025-26 season will be marked by a period of adaptation and transition, particularly with the implementation of our new software, powered by artificial intelligence, designed to optimize deicing operations. This initiative will significantly reduce our consumption of glycol and diesel, while also decreasing deicing time. It will be a year of transformation across multiple areas of the company, enabling us to stand out even more.

YUL maintains a 75% retention rate among seasonal employees. This is driven by the company culture, team recognition, and opportunities for growth within the company. If Sébastien had one piece of advice for new members of the deicing team, it would be this: during your first deicing season, never hesitate to ask questions or request demonstrations. The most important aspect of the deicing operations is safety, both for employees and passengers. Strictly following procedures is keeping everyone safe. Deicing is a truly exceptional profession.
