The Portraits of Changemakers series highlights the inspiring individuals at Aeromag who, every day, actively contribute to change through their commitment and vision. Among them, Shakoor Ahmad, Assistant Trainer at our Denver station (DEN), in Colorado.
Shakoor has been a member of the Aeromag team for 12 years. He began his career in the traditional way: as a Deicing Technician. Over the years, he has taken on several roles that have supported his professional growth, including Bay Lead, Ice Man, CTM, Practical Trainer, and most recently, Assistant Trainer at our DEN station.
Shakoor is drawn to the dynamic energy of fast-paced environments and the chance to collaborate with inspiring teams. He thrives in a culture that pushes boundaries, strives for excellence, and embraces the daily challenges that make the work both engaging and rewarding.

Training is the backbone of smooth and safe operations. It builds confidence, sharpens skills, and prepares teams to stay ahead of challenges. When employees are well trained, everyone benefits from increased safety to improved efficiency. While balancing thorough training with the fast-paced nature of the work can be challenging, the team embraces it with enthusiasm. Keeping engagement, adapting to new technologies, and maintaining consistent standards across teams are ongoing efforts, but they’re essential to delivering excellence every day.
The DEN team has implemented interactive simulations and peer-led sessions to enhance engagement and build practical skills. These initiatives have brought training to life, making it more dynamic and effective. This summer, a safety awareness campaign featuring workshops and refresher courses was launched. “Seeing the team’s enthusiasm and growing confidence throughout these efforts have been a truly rewarding experience,” says Shakoor.
