The Portraits of Changemakers series focuses on visionary individuals who work at Aeromag and who, every day, demonstrate a willingness to make a difference in the world. Among them, Mireille Dupuis Meunier, Assistant Executive Vice President of Finance, Administrative and Corporate Services, at our head quarter in Montreal (YUL), Quebec.
Mireille has been part of the Aeromag team for three years. In her role, she supports the Executive Vice President daily by providing everything necessary to optimize the execution of her role. Her support mainly involves ensuring daily follow-up on priorities, urgent matters, and new requests. She also acts as a liaison between various internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, she manages insurance policies in collaboration with insurers and internal teams, and then verifies and validates various contracts, such as those with airlines and rental companies.
Mireille enjoys several aspects of her work, particularly helping her manager with the administration of her files by providing answers, solutions, and support. The diversity of tasks makes each day unique and stimulating, and she finds great satisfaction in knowing that her work has a positive impact on others. Whether it’s facilitating communication or providing accurate information, each interaction strengthens her sense of accomplishment.
“What makes me proud is working for a Quebec-based company, alongside the Lépine family and all the extraordinary members of Aeromag. Although I’ve only been here for three years, I’ve witnessed the commitment and hard work that have driven the company’s growth. Aeromag is truly thriving.”
The Role of Women in the Aviation Industry
Over the years, the role of women in aviation has evolved significantly. Once dominated by men, the industry has made efforts to encourage female participation. Today, women hold a wide range of positions, from pilots to engineers, air traffic controllers, and much more, despite persistent gender biases and stereotypes. This transformation is also noticeable at Aeromag, where women now occupy roles at all levels, from operations to senior management.
Women have managed to assert themselves and prove their skills in a historically male-dominated sector. They are now more recognized, having contributed to promoting gender equality and encouraging women to pursue careers in aviation. Aeromag actively supports this evolution and advocates for the importance of supporting women in the industry.
Mireille is unsure if she is a role model for her female colleagues or for young women outside the industry. However, she hopes that by sharing her experience, she can inspire and encourage other women to pursue their dreams and achieve their professional goals. She has now spent eight years in the aviation field, including three years at Aeromag. Sharing her experience is always a pleasure for her.
Mireille might use her determination and passion to reach new heights, but she isn’t the only changemaker at Aeromag. Discover the other fascinating portraits of the key players in our big family.
