The Portraits of Changemakers series focuses on visionary individuals who work at Aeromag and who, every day, demonstrate a willingness to make a difference in the world. Among them, Yolanda McTee, Operations Manager at our Denver station (DEN), Colorado.
Yolanda recently joined the Aeromag team in Denver. In her role, she is responsible for ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and processes, evaluating the performance of team members and maintaining high standards. Additionally, she ensures that the deicing operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Although Yolanda brings supervisory experience from her previous career, she is new to the aviation industry. What attracted her to Aeromag was the company’s commitment to efficiency and environmental sustainability in aircraft deicing. The use of glycol recovery and recycling technology is vital in reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact, a critical aspect of today’s aviation industry.
“I’m proud to be part of one of the largest stations in the U.S. Working alongside such an incredible team, from leadership to technicians to mechanics, has been an amazing experience. As someone new to aviation, I’ve felt incredibly welcomed and supported by the Aeromag team, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Women in the Industry
Women at Aeromag play a vital role in operations. Whether it’s operating deicing trucks, repairing and maintaining equipment, or training employees, these women don’t get cold feet and are always ready to roll up their sleeves to ensure safe and successful operations.
When asked if she sees herself as a role model for female colleagues or women who aspire to build a career in aviation, Yolanda shared that she hasn’t been in the industry for long. However, she believes that fostering open conversations, offering support, showing understanding, and encouraging others will help women feel welcome in the industry. By believing in herself and pursuing her goal of starting a career in aviation, Yolanda is already serving as a role model for other women.
