On the Radar:
Preparations for Next Season

Kevin Bos, Head Trainer

On the radar July 25, 2024
Training is a crucial part of the Aeromag network. Not only does it enable employees to perform their tasks more effectively, but it also allows us to review procedures and minimize the risk of workplace accidents.

Kevin Bos, Head Trainer at our Edmonton (YEG) station, has been part of the Aeromag family for 11 years. Like many of his colleagues, he started his very first season as a Deicing Technician. He then held the positions of Bay Lead, Operation Control Centre Staff, Operations Supervisor and finally Operations Manager, before taking on a new challenge with the Training team.

Kevin and the other members of the Training team are responsible for providing operations-related theoretical training for employees, supervising and supporting practical trainers, and promoting the growth and development of operation positions.

Summer is a busy time, even if the snow and frost are not around. In addition to reviewing procedures and updating training materials, several new practical trainers have been hired and trained. The goal this summer is to ensure that staff have the tools and knowledge they need to safely face the new season, which starts in less than two (2) months’ time.

Ensuring that the content taught is interesting and understood by staff is a challenge faced by the Training team.

“It can be boring to be in a training room learning about deicing when it’s over 30 degrees Celsius outside in the middle of July. However, case studies and group activities have proven to keep staff involved and engaged during these theoretical training sessions.”

With the help of our partners and the undeniable desire of our teams to surpass themselves, we will be able to reach new heights.

Let’s go further together
